The Jewel in Bara

2015

Värbytorget, Bara, Svedala, Sweden

A deceased citizen generously bequeathed money to give the village of Bara a work of art, after living there all her life. We decided to investigate the qualities of the village and found inspiration for the artwork in the historical brick tradition in this specific area in southern Sweden as well as in the citizens close relationship to the surrounding nature. The Jewel in Bara is made of nature's precious material clay in the form of bricks.
