Askenäs Nursing home, Odensbacken

For the residents, staff and visitors of Askenäs nursing home, we have made a series of works that explore the sensual presence and movement of nature, in combination with the blanket as a symbol of caring for and protecting the body, inspired by draperies on classical sculptures.

Part 2 is a series of artworks made for the four korridors and living rooms inside the nursing home. They consists of wall reliefs, woven tapestries and photographic works, which relate to the the surrounding nature in the local area. Each corridor referring to; The lake, The field, The forrest and The landscape.

Using abstract shapes and textures, that can stimulate tactile senses, and bright and clear colors, that can help to evoke feelings and memories, this series of works is specially made for residents with dementia, taking into account their unique experiences and challenges.
